Downrigging Weekend, Chestertown. Nearly 30 tall ships and historic vessels from throughout the mid-Atlantic and traditional Chesapeake work boats sail into Chestertown. Tour the ships, take a sail, other events throughout town. www.sultanaprojects.org

Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddlers’ Festival. A Don’t Miss Event! Flashlight Maze at Breckenridge Farms, Linkwood, MD (Rt. 50 east of Cambridge on the westbound side). The maze is open during the day, but it’s a whole different world trying to find your way around after dark. Huge maze with a Wild West design. Also P-Y-O pumpkins, other events. $9/$5. Federalsburg Historical Society Heritage Day, Federalsburg. Family event celebrating the historic town’s origins and history. Tours. Demonstrations. 10-3. 443-253-9045

 

Seaside 10 mile/5K race/run. Ocean City. Race starts at 9 a.m. at the Inlet. Registration at 7 a.m. Cost varies depending on which race you’re doing. Well-marked route along roads in the resort. www.octrirunning.com

 

Oct. 31

Guided bird walk through Blackwater Wildlife Refuge. Suitable for all levels. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather. 8 a.m. – noon. Meet at the visitor center. Free. www.fws.gov/blackwater.
